Overview:

In 2011, there were many major events in the global economic sectors, such as the European debt crisis, the slow economic recovery in the U.S.A, inflation in the Chinese economy and financial market turmoil which also affected the ferroalloy industry.

Chrome: The chrome products market was going up greatly in the early year of 2011, and the chrome ore price reached the highest point of the year. However, for the high inflation in China, Chinese government kept the strict policy to control real estate. And then, the steel market was also influenced, the chrome ore demand and prices followed a downward path. Although there was a little improvement at the chrome market in July, it could not block the downward trend.

Nickel: In the beginning of 2011, the nickel prices risen significantly due to the quantitative easing policy in the United States. However, with the pressure of the weak macro-economy, the weak demand for stainless steel industry in China led to the low actual nickel consumption. The nickel ore market was facing serious overcapacity and there was high nickel ore stocks at China ports.

In 2012, China and other countries will take some measures in the economic field. And for the chrome and nickel ore products industry, the market will continue to maintain the weak demand, or there is any improvement in the new year?
