Gulf Mining has spent several years researching and “walking” over chromite deposits throughout the Sultanate. Gulf Mining initiated its ambitious program to quarry promising deposits of refractory grade chromite ores in Wadi Mahram in 2005. Subsequently, several more chromite mines were added to the fold of GMM. Today GMM alongwith its associate companies have more than two million tons of Chromite deposits in Oman. In a very short period of its existence, Gulf mining has already become one of the largest mining companies in the country. GMM has been the largest exporter of Oman chrome ore to China and is well known to the users which are large ferro-chrome manufacturers. GMM is the first one, to supply Chrome ore concentrate from Oman with the grades of 40%-38% and Cr:fe 2.10:1 min. With 100% owned and fully registered office in Shenzhen, China, company has full rights to clear customs, CIQ and VAT in China.
