Dedeman Mining Group

Primary philosophy of Dedeman Mining Group can be summarized as "environmentally friendly production in state-of-the-art facilities".  Dedeman owns 67 concessions in Turkey.  Being one of the pioneers in chrome mining she is one of the leaders in terms of production and market share. In the years to come,  with relevant capacity increasing programmes Dedeman aims to increase her chrome ore production from 250.000 to 300.000 tpa and ROM zinc-lead ore to 400-500.000 tpa.  The group also continues with project studies aiming value added end products in mining and metal industry.

Chrome ore mining has been being carried out in Toruntepe/Pinarbasi mines of Kayseri province since 1947 and in Pulpinar mines since 1985 without interruption. In the past years, production has reached 150.000 tpa high grade ROM ore (%45-46 Cr2O3) in the underground mines. In these operations, there are concentrators,  jigs, and hand sorting facilities that can enrich low grade chrome ore economically.  The new Adana/Aladag Concessions added to our group in 2006 will contribute our production with 40.000-50.000 tpa capacity.  All necessary measures are taken to prevent environmental pollution by waste materials generated by enrichment facilities (concentrator, jig, and hand sorting). In addition continuous tree plantation is being carried out in and around working areas and social facilities.

In zinc-lead mining, there are16 mines in Kayseri, Nigde and Ordu provinces.   Operations had been active in the mines within the boundaries of Ordu from time to time. Explorations continue in this area.  Till now in areas within Kayseri and Nigde, approximately 1.500.000 tons of ore containing  zinc, lead and silver has been produced.  70% of this production was sold to Çinkur A.S. plant and 30 % was exported. 80.000-100.00 tpa of ore production is being planned in the above mentioned mines which show an approximate reserve of 13.000.000 tons of zinc and lead ores.
